First Applicant’s Guides for Regional OP 2014-2020 to launch in May

Regional Operational Programme 2014-2020, with an estimated budget of EUR 8.22 bn, is divided into 10 priority axes and one axis for technical assistance. Initially, attention will be given to projects in the Danube Delta area. These projects are to be funded by the ITI – Integrated Territorial Investment – instrument. The allocated budget is 1 bn Euro.

Finance Minister Eugen Teodorovici announced a new payment mechanism under which projects eligible to receive European funding will be financed from the state treasury. Following this, the Romanian government will request the European Commission to reimburse the payments and expenses.

189 M EUR from EU’s Regional Development Fund to finance Romania – Hungary Territorial Cooperation Programme 2014-2020

The Common Working Group for Strategic Planning and Programming approved the final version of the Trans-border Territorial Cooperation Programme Interreg V-A Romania – Hungary 2014-2020. This new programme aims to strengthen strategic relations in the border area and to identify common actions for enhancing the economic and social development of the region.

3.9 bn Euro to be transferred to Romania

The European Council approved the revision of the 2014 – 2020 multiannual financial framework (MFF). This decision allows the unmet commitments during the 2014 fiscal year to be transferred to the upcoming years. In Romania’s case 3.9 bn Euro will be transferred. Some commitments remained unmet in 2014 due to a late adoption of 300 of the 650 European programs.
