678 M euro in reimbursements for Romania

In 2015, Brussels paid reimbursements of 678 M euro to the Romanian authorities. This amount represents the total value of payment applications sent in 2014 and 2015.

The 2007-2013 MFF European funds absorption rate is approximately 53%. Romanian authorities estimate that, by the end of the year, the European funds absorption rate will reach 80%.

First Agriculture funds financing lines to open this week

In order to support young farmers and to stimulate investment in the field, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development decided to open the first session of project applications for the first two financing lines starting March 25. It is expected that the EU conformity letter will be received by mid April. Following this letter, at the beginning of May, it is expected that all the applicant’s guides for the National Rural Development Programme 2014-2020 to be launched.

Special attention will be given to the main irigation infrastructure for which the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will request 1B euro financing through the Junker Plan.

URBACT III European Programme to launch first call for project applications

URBACT III is a European programme that focuses on long-term urban development through good practices and exchange programmes targeting all European specialists involved in the field of urban policy development.  Presently, there are over 300 cities, 29 countries, and 5000 active participants involved in this programme.
