2007-2013 EU Funds absorption, 101 M Euro for Q1 2015

The funds were disbursed under the Regional Operational Programme (POR), Operational Programme for Administrative Capacity Development (PO DCA), and Operational Programme Technical Assistance (PO AT).

The European funds absorption rate registered a 0.53% increase since the previous month – 52.59% – currently levelling at 53.12%. Estimates made by the new European funds Minister, Mr. Marius Nica, indicate the expected final absorption rate will range between 60% and 80% at the end of 2015.

2020 Digital Agenda Strategy adopted by Romanian Government

The Digital Agenda for Romania is one of the pilot initiatives of the 2020 European Strategy. It describes the major role that the information technology and communications (IT&C) sector will have to play in the realisation of European-wide interoperability.

The whole implementation process of the strategic planning concerning the IT&C sector in Romania will attract approximately 2.4B Euro by 2020. This amount represents the total investment required for this initiative to be successfully implemented.

 The Youth Guarantee scheme receives a 343M Euro top-up

The Youth Guarantee Scheme is a European initiative which aims to lower the unemployment rate among young European citizens. Its aim is to ensure that anyone under the age of 25 is either employed, engaged in an apprenticeship or internship, or follows a training course that is adapted to the needs of any particular individual.

Romania received 8.5M Euro European Solidarity Funds

The aid of approximately 8.5M Euro targets the reconstruction of the infrastructure, of vital services, as well as of distressed areas.

The European Solidarity Fund was created to support member states and the European candidate countries in dealing with natural disasters through financial assistance.
